ISLE OF ICHTHYS (ek-thiss)
Among the rocky coasts of Ancient Greece lies a fishing village secluded among the rock caverns formed by the crashing sea waves.
For generations, the villagers have thrived in isolation, bound together by the infinite sea, venerating a great leviathan beneath the waves — granting plentiful catches to those who honor her.
This is a world-building project that I started in Chris Falkenburg's Brainstorm class and later built upon over time. It was a blast to get to create a little world after being inspired by seeing these cavern-like rocks in Greece near the shore. I felt like they were perfect little communal and living spaces for some kind of sea-faring fae, and hence, this was born! Partially inspired by Cappadocia as well and their built-into-rock structures.
Special thanks to Andres Martinez, JDR, and Hunter Hewitt for giving me helpful critiques on how to push the world further.
